The Exhale To Excel ELR Framework

Skills students can feel.
Tools they can use.

Our Emotional Literacy and Regulation framework moves beyond behavior management. Students learn to notice what is happening within them, regulate with agency, and respond with greater intention.

01

Recognize

Notice sensations, emotions, and the earliest signs of activation.

02

Reflect

Create space to understand what is happening before acting.

03

Regulate

Use body-based tools to restore access to choice and capacity.

04

Relate

Build connection through co-regulation, boundaries, and communication.

05

Respond

Choose actions that support repair, readiness, and growth.

Built for real school communities

Support that meets the whole system.

Student regulation cannot be separated from adult capacity and school climate. Exhale To Excel partners with schools to create practical, developmentally responsive experiences for students and the adults who support them.

In their words

What school communities are experiencing.

Educators and school leaders share how Exhale To Excel supports regulation, relationships, behavior, and readiness to learn.

The Exhale To Excel program provided our students with practical tools to manage stress, build emotional awareness, and stay focused on learning. The strategies were age-appropriate, engaging, and easy for students to apply throughout the school day. The results were noticeable both behaviorally and academically. I highly recommend the Exhale To Excel program!

Exhale To Excel has been a powerful and transformative addition to our school environment, providing students with a safe, structured space to pause, regulate emotions, and refocus through intentional breathing, mindfulness, and social-emotional practices. I have observed increased emotional regulation, improved behavior, greater academic focus, and a calmer approach to learning, particularly among students who struggle with anxiety or self-regulation. What sets Exhale To Excel apart is its intentional, developmentally appropriate curriculum and the care and authenticity with which it is delivered. The program supports the whole child emotionally, mentally, and physically. This aligns seamlessly with school goals and is helpful in having a more balanced school culture.

Where education meets embodied practice.

Exhale To Excel was created from a simple truth: we cannot punish dysregulation out of a child—or ask educators to co-regulate from a chronically depleted nervous system.

Jamella is a somatic yoga therapist, educator, and behavior specialist who translates neuroscience and body-based practice into tools that work in real classrooms.
